The children at Sonas Baldivis South love to bring in their fabulous toys to show us all.
We have a special day that we dedicate our morning mat time to appreciating the exciting toys and books. The children today mainly brought books in, which is fantastic and shows us all how much joy there is in reading.
The children get up one by one if they’ve brought in something and tell us all about it. We ask questions, we talk about the items, or we read the books.
Analysis :
This event in our weekly calendar helps the children identify days of the week, gives them a day where they can show off their favourite or special items, and finds out a bit about their peers.
Show and tell is used to develop storytelling ability, bridge school and home, and forge connections and bonds between students. Children learn to articulate their thoughts clearly, organise their ideas, and use appropriate body language and tone by participating in show-and-tell sessions and other public speaking opportunities.
We hope with continued embedding that show and tell will become a firm fixture and help develop confidence and speech skills.
