The children have been learning lots of self-help skills lately.
One of these skills is to self-serve at mealtimes. The educators noticed some of the children found using the tongs to be quite tricky, so they got some play tongs and balls out for the children to practice.
The children had lots of fun trying to pick the balls up using the tongs. Some of the younger children put the tongs through the holes in the ball and picked them up that way, showing great pride as they did so.
The children had lots of fun practising different ways of holding the tongs, and shared their accomplishments with the peers and educators.
