Visual art uses colours, light, darkness, shapes, and more to invoke emotions.

Music uses instruments, key changes, sounds, lyrics, and more to do the same. Children had the opportunity to express themselves by listening to a variety of different instruments.

We discussed soft music and gentle soft brush strokes and then loud music and stronger, harder brush strokes onto our clear shower curtain canvas.

The movement of the shower curtain added another element, of freedom to express themselves through music and movement.

Analysis of learning :

Creative expression using a variety of different mediums
Exploration using our senses
Communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal

Evaluation and reflection :

Painting to music allows children to interpret and process sensory information and allows them to take ownership of the music, creating their own impressions.
