Visual art uses colours, light, darkness, shapes, and more to invoke emotions.

Music uses instruments, key changes, sounds, lyrics, and more to do the same.

Children use both verbal and non-verbal communication skills to express themselves by listening to a variety of different instruments.

We discussed soft music and gentle soft brush strokes, and then loud music and stronger, harder brush strokes onto our clear shower curtain canvas.

Analysis of learning:

creative expression through art
increasing communication skills to express themselves
demonstrating a sense of belonging
building relationships/friendships
working both independently and with and alongside others

Evaluation and reflection:

Painting to music allows children to interpret and process sensory information and allows them to take ownership of the music, creating their own impressions.
