The children engaged in imaginative play using small pretend play items like benches, chairs, tables, etc.

The play was lively, filled with laughter and negotiation as well. This play session highlighted children’s ability to engage in a cooperative play and social skills.

Reflection:

This experience encouraged our children to explore different perspectives, fostering empathy and, of course, communication.

It was notable how they are suggesting an emerging understanding of negotiation and teamwork. The use of small furniture items enhanced their imaginative scenarios, allowing for a more immersive experience.

Analysis of learning:

The children’s play illustrates key aspects of developmental theory, particularly Vygotsky’s concept of social constructivism and the importance of social interaction in learning.

The collaborative nature of their play facilitated the development of language skills as they communicated ideas within the group. The children’s interactions with objects also encouraged fine motor skills as they manipulated the furniture to create their desired setups.
