This week at Sonas Wanneroo we have really been enjoying and engaging with the story of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”.
To extend on this we have created a fine motor posting activity using loose parts and donated recycled resources. First step is we used a screwdriver and hammer to make a hole for the caterpillars mouth, then we looked at a picture of the caterpillar, selected the correct paint colours then painted our caterpillar.
Once he was dry we used a hot glue gun to attach his face and create the foods to post into his mouth. These were hot glued onto bottle caps for the children to pick up, identify then post.
This afternoon we have had lots of fun feeding our new friend.
