Today we started off the morning by using our recycled bottles to make our bowling pins.

The educator had bought in some recycled bottles to use as our 10 pin bowling pins and rice that are coloured with different colours on them. Once we had done that and had tipped and given the bottles a shake to turn the rice the desired colour that we wanted, we then sealed the bottles back up.

Once the bottles of coloured rice were ready, we put them outside with our own bowling alley and set the pins up to do some bowling. The educator set up the pins as they would be set up on a bowling alley: 4 at the back, 3 in front, 2 in front of that, and then 1 in the very front with a ball to knock the pins over.

The educator first showed the children how to bowl the ball down and knock the pins over using our underarm throw. Bowling is a fun and engaging activity that offers numerous benefits for children.

Here are some of the advantages of bowling for kids: Bowling helps develop the children’s hand-eye coordination, Fine motor skills, and arm dexterity. Bowling also reviews a social interaction side for children that encourages the children to interact with others, make friends with those around them, and develop their communication skills.

Playing bowling and scoring points and achieving success in bowling can boost a child’s confidence and self-esteem, as well as encourage healthy competition, teaching children the value of sportsmanship and perseverance.

Bowling requires focus and concentration, helping children develop these essential skills. Bowling is a great activity for family bonding, creating opportunities for quality time and shared experiences.

Bowling helps children manage emotions, such as excitement, disappointment, and frustration, in a healthy way.
