Welcome to Sonas Early Learning & Care

Sonas is Old-Irish for "happiness". We welcome you to Sonas Early Learning & Care where your children and family’s happiness, joy and wellbeing are our priority.

Sonas Early Learning & Care has been 25 years in the making. It is owned and operated by experienced, knowledgeable qualified Early Childhood specialists who have lovingly combined all the elements of quality child care and early education and embedded them in the very core of the program and service offered to you.

At Sonas we nurture and promote authentic positive childhood experiences through play based learning activities. A setting that is carefully created and lovingly maintained fosters children’s interest and enquiry naturally lead to quality learning experiences. At Sonas we know that young children learn best when:-

Children feel safe and secure – through the development of close, genuine and reciprocal relationships with key educators who have a sincere affinity with children
Children and educators collaborate and learn together in enriching, stimulating and child-interest based environments to explore and engage children’s attention and curiosity
Together, parents, educators, and peers extend, grow and scaffold children’s learning by building on knowledge already possessed.
Children learn best when they can discover, experiment, collaborate, create, take on projects and task experiences, practice functional, everyday skills, make choices and where they can analyse their prior experiences to support and create new knowledge
Children learn in nature, fostering an understanding and respect of the natural world
A child’s community is the starting place and primary resource for learning, promoting a sense of “own place” for our children, where they know they belong, and a community they know they belong to.
Every opportunity is provided for children to use all of their SENSES. With their senses, they learn, build relationships with other children, explore material items in the world around them and invent endless ways and opportunities to express themselves. Learning environments are flexible to change and accommodate the different skills and activities needed at each stage of development.

 What Our Parents Are Saying.

Sonas Early Learning have made the next stage much easier. My baby seemed so little still and I wasn’t ready to be leaving him and return to work at all yet. The centre appealed to us when we were looking around as it was neat, clean and cosy, the children looked happy and clean as well as being well occupied with a variety of activities. I liked it wasn’t a chain with people somewhere else making all the decisions that would affect my child. The staff are respectful and considerate of our requests and anything relating to our son.

They are very knowledgable and nurturing. My baby loves being outside and this is something that is encouraged as yet another way to learn. It gets harder to leave him but I know he is very well taken care of and adored by some fabulous ladies. Having the Xplor app helps me get through the day, being able to see pictures of him happy and playing (learning) , seeing the details (food, sleep etc)makes for great communication and consistency for him. It is also great to share with family! Thank you ladies.
