Today’s intentional teaching experience focused on creativity and connection with nature through an autumn leaf collage activity 🍂
We provided children with a mix of cut-out leaf shapes and real leaves collected from the front garden. The leaves were cut into smaller pieces, allowing the children to explore texture and design as they created their own unique collages. This hands-on experience encouraged creativity, supported fine motor skill development, and introduced natural materials in a meaningful way.
The activity also helped foster an appreciation for the natural environment and seasonal changes. Some children needed extra support when handling the smaller leaf pieces and applying glue, highlighting an opportunity to continue strengthening fine motor skills in future experiences.
