“First we stop, and we look left and then quickly turn right to check for cars” and then its safe to cross. “but you have to hold your mummies hand”
These are the words of some of our smaller voices in the family room.
Our children have spent time this week learning about Road Safety as the children enjoy watching our schoolies go to and from school.
The children assisted the educators in setting up our very own crosswalk on the bike track. We coloured in using two bright colours so that our friends driving the cars and riding the bikes could see it from a distance.
Some of the children asked to be the traffic controller and turn the signs. As they turned the signs we could hear “stop” and “slow down”
The children then used their knowledge to direct play on the road maps with their peers. The children have also spoken about looking for cars as they leave the centre.
