All different materials and resources created lots of magic sensory exploration for our children.
With sand, coloured water and chia seed goop, the children created lots of learning, focusing on their motor skills. They enjoyed squishing the chia seed goop through their fingers to feel the texture of the seeds and manipulated the goop to create a big colourful blob.
With the sand the children ran it through their fingers and laughed as they did this. The children then used coloured water to turn it into mud. This mud was then used to create small sandcastle type buildings for the boats to sit on top of.
Although this type of play ends up messy, the children have so much fun whilst engaging in messy play.
Sensory play helps the children to further develop their motor skills, fosters creativity, imagination and helps build their social connections as they spend time learning from others.
