You may already know that Sonas Baldivis North & South have joined forces with our local community pantry, Oakwell Street Community Pantry, who provide free pantry goods to help families in need.

We are always in need of donations and there are three drop off points in our community now.  As we are approaching Christmas this is a very difficult time for many and we would love to see all of our pantries full of donations for community members in need.

The objective of a community pantry is to “Give what you can and take what you need.”

With pantries located at the front of both our Sonas centres, we aim to collect generous donations of non-perishable items, from our community, as well as provide to those in need.

How can you help?

Donations, big or small, can change a person’s life. A family doing it tough, a parent desperate but embarrassed to ask for help, elderly struggling to stretch their pension, and many more scenarios, but all hungry and in need of a helping hand.

If you can donate, items that are regularly needed are:

  • Long life milk
  • Cereals, rice & pasta
  • Canned meals/soups
  • Biscuits & crackers
  • Toiletries
