This week we eagerly await a break in the rain to go outside with our eggs and spoons and partake in our very own egg and spoon relay.

We used our physical skills to get our bodies moving, while encouraging the children to walk from one spot to another before manoeuvring around a chair and returning to their peers. Some of our older children demonstrated what we needed to do before everyone was able to take a turn.

We all demonstrated skills of patience, cooperation, coordination and commitment, even when the egg would fall off the spoon, we would just pick it up and encourage each other to try again.

Throughout the experience we were able to develop our hand eye coordination, balance, focus and concentration, all at the same time as having fun and celebrating their successes with their peers.
