Today Miss Tootie wanted our morning tea to be much more interactive; children participated in making smoothies using frozen fruit and yogurt.

The session aimed to further embed our basic cooking skills, promote healthy eating habits, and enhance sensory experiences. Each child had the opportunity to select, measure, and blend ingredients together to create a delicious drink.

During the smoothie-making activity, children developed essential culinary skills by measuring, mixing, and blending ingredients, which enhanced their coordination and ability to follow instructions.

The experience also promoted healthy eating by highlighting the nutritional benefits of fruits and yogurt while facilitating discussions about colours, tastes, and balanced diets.

Additionally, engaging with various textures and temperatures provided a rich sensory experience, allowing them to explore the coldness of frozen fruit and the creaminess of yogurt.

Finally, the collaborative nature of the activity encouraged teamwork and sharing, fostering a sense of community among the children.
