The children of Sonas Bayswater engaged in activities to commemorate ANZAC Day and learn what the day is all about.
The children made an ANZAC Day poster, decorated poppies with red glitter, tissue paper, and sequins to then glue on pop sticks to make the stem. We discussed with the children that the red poppy has become a symbol of the war, and we used or wear them to serve as a message of remembrance of the soldiers that gave their lives or fought in the war for our country and all over the world.
Objectives: Learning about defining moments in history, using critical thinking skills to ask questions and discuss the important concepts and topics, fine motor development, hand-eye coordination.
