This week the children were learning about weight. They were exploring the weight of various objects using the weighing scales.

This activity encouraged the children to communicate their estimations of the weight of objects. Counting was also a big part of this activity, as the children counted the objects as they put them on the scales.

The educators posed questions for the children to allow them to interpret their own answer. These questions included “If I place 3 pebbles on this side of the scale, how many dinosaurs will be the same weight?”.

The children were then encouraged to count the dinosaurs that resulted in the weighing scales becoming level.
