Sonas Gosnells invited Sonas Huntingdale over to our service for a very special incursion.

The children were given the opportunity to explore the beats and rhythm of African Drumming. There were various sized drums for the children to explore with our drum expert offering us all tips on changing the sound to suit different tempos.

Together the children began creating the different sounds heard in an African savannah such as lions, monkeys and elephants. The children worked together to create a beat with each child being able to decide the tempo when it was their turn.

We danced beautifully to our peers playing the drums. This week we are extending our learning by creating our own African drums to take home.
