This morning, we decided to go shopping in our nature garden.
We traveled through the gardens and bushes and bought lots of plants and flowers. After we collected the plants and flowers, we used glue and A3 paper and started to design an artwork for our steam room. The children were given full autonomy to be creative with their ideas, and at the end, we ended up with very beautiful art.
This is a fun and inexpensive activity that helps to develop children’s vocabulary, language, and recognition skills.
As we explore nature, they simultaneously learn the names of colours and textures. They also understand the interdependence of nature and humans. It also helps build their socio-emotional well-being, as we encourage lots of curious conversations and the sharing of stories while we go on nature hunts. It also improves their observation skills; they learn to listen to instructions.
We made raw art and crafts with the stuff we got from nature, which helps them with creativity and problem solving.
