This week, the Nest Studio at Sonas Midland has been concentrating on learning all about colours.
They’ve learned so far about the primary colours of red, blue, and yellow! We spoke about the colour red, which is the colour of yummy apples and shiny fire trucks; the colour blue, which is the colour of the sky and ocean; and the colour yellow, which is bright like the sun and the colour of a banana.
The children got to work with food colouring, measuring, and pouring as they made ice sticks to paint with. They saw that they could mix colours to create other colours with the ice sticks, as well as build their fine motor skills. Colours are everywhere and all around us, which makes our world bright, colourful and beautiful!
Analysis of Learning:
Building knowledge of simple primary colours
Mixing colours and learning how to point them out
Growing our fine motor skills
