This week we have been exploring all things Christmas by creating some red and green playdough.
The children have all taken turns following the recipe adding the ingredients and mixing the mixture to create the dough. One of the children said the red dough looked like “Mrs Claus” while the green one look like “The Grinch”.
Playdough is such a versatile material. It provides numerous benefits to children as they manipulate it. It is safe and soothing and provides children with a satisfying sensory experience. There are many benefits of children playing with playdough including developing fine motor skills, creativity, vocabulary, literacy and numeracy and much more.
Our recipe is :
2 cups of flour
1 cup of salt
2 tsp of oil
2 tsp of cream of tartar
1 cup of water
Few drops of food colouring.
Add all into a large mixing bowl and mix until creates a dough texture, then let little hands explore and play 😊
