This week we have extended from our Pirate themed Messy Play event through even more textured sensory play experiences.

Exploring textures and engaging in messy play is a great way to support children’s sensory processing by stimulating the tactile system (the sense of touch) and developing a further understanding of things such as hot/cold, textures, and pressure.

This type of play really helps children begin to understand the world around them.

We have done this sensory play through the use of gloop, pasta, jelly, coloured rice, playdough, kinetic sand and some natural resources from our garden.
