Sonas Wanneroo – Sensory Trays and Playdough Days

This week the children of Sonas Wanneroo, have been exploring sensory trays. 

Based on some family input for one of our toddlers we have created a scooping and tongs activity with dry pasta. The children used their fine motor skills to scoop, fill, move and pick up pasta using different utensils. Helping to develop the understanding of how these utensils are used and what they can do with pasta. 

To continue with this learning we also had a playdough activity set up where the children were able to further build on their hand strength through manipulating the dough and adding the pasta in to see the different designs and patterns left behind.
