This week after school, we have been opening our Zen Room for some of our Schoolies children, who are in need of some calming activities and a slow-paced space.

The children have been engaging with our large puzzles, working as a team to recognise the patterns on the puzzle pieces and placing them together to create the completed product.

Puzzles enable a child to develop problem-solving skills on how to place a piece in the correct space, cognitive skills through visual-spatial awareness, fine motor skills to learn how to grasp and pick up pieces through manipulation, hand/ eye coordination by placing puzzle pieces in the correct order and social skills by completing puzzles with peers.
