At Sonas, our children have been immersed in meaningful and engaging experiences to celebrate NAIDOC Week—honouring the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our activities included traditional art using natural materials, Dreamtime storytelling, Indigenous-themed tuff trays, and sensory play inspired by the land and sea. Children enjoyed painting ‘The Rainbow Serpent’ with colours, creating dot artwork, and connecting with nature through sand, leaves, and native plants.
Through these experiences, our little learners developed respect for Australia’s First Nations people and a deeper understanding of connection to Country and community.
We are proud to be fostering cultural awareness, inclusion, and reconciliation from the early years.
