All children who attend Sonas participate daily in the Safe 4 Kids programs.
The program consists of 10 different concepts, some of which include Safe and Unsafe, Feelings, Risking on Purpose Safety Team Risking on Persistence in Telling and Public and Private.
The educators themselves have received training in how to deliver this to the children. We use a variety of different activities, songs, and stories to implement these very important messages to the children.
In Safe 4 Kids, we talk about their bodies, different warning signs they get, and how to keep telling and who they can tell until their message gets across.
The children love when we bring out the spider and the snake resources and talk about being scared. We also get lots of giggles and laughter with some of the books we read. This we were reading, “Everybody has a Bottom.”
This week we were learning all about Public and Private with the children.
