At Sonas we use a variety of different techniques when telling stories.

Today, the children gathered in the fort with the educator to engage in a storytelling session. The educator used small, handmade puppets to tell the story of The Lion and the Mouse.

The children were highly engaged, showing great interest and curiosity throughout the session. They listened attentively and responded with enthusiasm as the educator brought the characters to life using the puppets.

Following the story, the group sang nursery rhymes, including Old MacDonald Had a Farm. The educator used animal puppets to represent each character and gave the children matching animal toys to hold. This hands-on approach encouraged active participation, and the children joined in with excitement and joy, making animal sounds and singing along.

By using puppets, the children are more engaged as they participate in the stories and songs we do.
