The very hungry caterpillar tuff tray.
This morning, the educator set up a tuff tray inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar story.
We read the book together and discussed the healthy and unhealthy foods the caterpillar ate.
To make the story more interactive, we created a caterpillar using recycled Pringles cans. which further engaged the children. Listening to the story and discussing it improved their vocabulary and comprehension skills.
The children enjoyed the activity, feeding the caterpillar healthy food from the tray and exploring the story in a hands-on way. They demonstrated the ability to differentiate between healthy and unhealthy foods through play and discussion.
