At Sonas, Children were engaged in a sensory exploration activity using a tactile board containing a variety of materials such as pipe cleaners, wooden sticks, pom-poms, fabric, bottle lids and bubble wrap.
The children explored the board using their hands, showing curiosity and concentration. One child gently pressed the green bottle lids, repeating the action and observing the movement. Another child touched and rubbed the different textures, including the soft pom-poms and rough wooden sticks. A third child explored the bubble wrap, pressing it with their palm and fingers.
The children remained focused for an extended period, using their senses to investigate the materials. They used fine motor skills to press, tap and feel different surfaces. Some children observed each other’s actions and imitated their peers, showing social engagement alongside independent exploration.
