Last week we were focusing on incorporating sign language on our programme.

Our fortnightly objective is:

Children recognise pictures and some symbols, signs or words.

Our Educators started off by explaining what word we were going to do, demonstrated the actions and allowed the children to copy with the demonstrations.

The children were so interested and would copy as many as they could.

Sign language benefits the children as it can speed up speech development, reduces frustration in young children by giving them a means to express themselves before they know how to talk, increases parent-child bonding, and lets babies communicate vital information, such as if they are hurt or hungry.
