Today, we dove deep into “Space Week,” immersing the children in the wonders of the universe.
We kicked off our exploration by watching and listening to the catchy song “We Are the Planets,” which sparked lively conversations about various celestial topics, from stars to UFOs and space shuttles.
Afterward, we gathered around the table as Beck prepared the clay for our upcoming creative projects. Just then, Nicky walked in, intrigued by the excitement. “Ooo, what are we doing?” she asked. The children eagerly shared their plans to make rockets, aliens, and other space-themed creations. Nicky brought a space book to the table, sharing images of galaxies, astronauts, and different planets.
This opened up a rich discussion, allowing the children to express their thoughts and imaginations about what they saw. With inspiration flowing, the children began to explore the clay, rolling it between their hands and adding water to make it moist and pliable.
Their enthusiasm was infectious as they manipulated the clay into their own unique creations, each one reflecting their individual ideas and interpretations of space. It was a fantastic day filled with creativity, learning, and a sense of wonder about the universe!
