Today we focused on imagination and patterns within our Chrysalis lesson.

The children were prompted to story tell using images found on Google.

The results were hilarious, imaginative, and amazing. I have typed them up and will be printing them off to make into books to take home in book week.

We moved to other chrysalis activities for mathematics and social skills.

Once the children had exhausted their interest in the programmed activities, they took themselves to the pre-kindy closet and chose something to do individually or in small groups.

Analysis:

Having dedicated time and space for the chrysalis program to take place is helping the children enter the mindset of learning and lessons, as they would be expected to at “Big” School. We are finding so much engagement with the learning, and so much life is coming from these planned moments.

Storytelling: This is an important imaginative and creative skill. Having the skills to see a picture and make things up rather than just explaining the exact events in the image is setting the children up for success in future literacy and writing classes.

The boost in the verbal language and confidence with the children is so important, collaborating on a story with their peers, smiling and laughing together.
