The babies have been showing a keen interest in trial and error motions.

To facilitate continuity of learning, the educators Stacy and Elly set up an experience for nursery using stacking cups and water.

The stacking cups were placed in the tray of water, but we found that the babies had much more fun splashing the water around with their hands. Stacy and Elly then demonstrated to the babies how they could pour water from one stacking cup to another. The babies were intrigued and attempted to copy the actions.

The babies then placed the stacking cups on their side to scoop up the water and then lifted them up from the tray. As they did this, they all watched the water drip from the bottom of the cups.

The babies showed so much curiosity and wonder as they explored two elements to create meaning and purpose.
