This week we have been budding artists.
Artwork is very important in Early Childhood. It allows children to develop skills in a range of areas.
It can help develop Math skills. Artwork provides the children the opportunity to develop skills and concepts. Children though art can develop an understanding of size, shape, comparing, counting and spatial reasoning.
By doing Art it helps to develop the children’s Fine Motor skills. Children are able to grasp pencils, crayons, chalk and brushes. This in turn will further develop the child’s fine motor skills where much more controlled movements are required such as writing or doing buttons.
Art also helps with Cognitive development; they are able to learn about patterns, cause & effect. It allows the children to start making plans about what they want to achieve.
