This week at Sonas Brabham we were learning all about measuring and measurements!

To start our day we decided to make some kinetic sand from scratch. Firstly, the children and Ciara read through the method to see what ingredients we need and how much of each ingredient we needed. We then measured each ingredient either with a measuring cup or measuring spoon, so we had the correct amount.

While doing this we had conversations about how much each cup could hold of the ingredient too see if we needed to add more to it or take some out as it was overflowing. We then poured each ingredient into the bowl and then used a whisk to combine it all together.

Once this was all done it was time to explore what we had created. As the children picked up the kinetic sand it would all combine together but as soon as they let it go it would fall apart and act like beach sand.
