Whilst doing some tidying at home, Lilly came across her old saddle and thought it would be a great addition to the Loose Parts section in the Junior Toddler Room. She was right, it was a hit all over the centre.
The children were lining up to listen to Lilly talk about and demonstrate what every piece was used for: the stirrups where your feet are placed, the stirrup leathers and the tree which is the base of a saddle.
Much to our surprise we even had a few special visitors that afternoon as the local Mounted Police were patrolling close by and stopped in for a visit. After leaving we discussed their saddles, what they could eat and what the their jobs were, it was so much fun!
