This week we explored the concept developing scissor skills.
We went around our centre garden and gathered different bits of leaves and bushes from the nature around us. Then, in a tuff tray with water, we took turns cutting up the leaves in different sized pieces and shapes. We had eucalyptus leaves and even rosemary sprigs, combined in the water. The children observed how these smells are amplified and even talked about what it smelt like.
This activity was great for children to develop finger muscles, practice scissor cutting and exploring their senses.
