Sonas Spearwood – Group Painting

This morning in the STEAM room, we set up a group painting experience using paint, cling wrap, and toy cars to observe how the children engaged with the materials.

The children were drawn to the experience and approached the table with curiosity, demonstrating early research and investigation skills as they explored the setup.

The children enthusiastically pressed their hands onto the cling wrap, using their sense of touch to feel the paint beneath the surface. They lifted their hands and visually searched the area, exploring where the paint was located and how it responded to their movements.

We then introduced the toy cars to the experience. The children grasped the cars and used controlled hand movements, demonstrating fine motor skills as they manipulated the cars through the paint.

The children explored the cause-and-effect relationship between their actions and the paint patterns created, engaging creatively with the materials.
