This week at Sonas Spearwood, the children joyfully embraced Harmony Week with a vibrant mix of sensory and cultural experiences, honouring diversity, respect, and the beauty of belonging.

The fun began with squishy orange playdough, where little hands rolled and shaped their way through creativity—orange symbolising the official colour of Harmony Week. 🎨🧡

Children explored Indigenous Australian symbols through sand drawing, connecting to culture through storytelling in the most hands-on and meaningful way. 🇦🇺🌿

The magic continued with an oats and lentils sensory tray, where children discovered and matched world flags, sparking conversations about different countries, traditions, and the meaning of inclusion. 🌍🚩

Our cozy book nook came alive with cultural storybooks, inspiring empathy, curiosity, and rich dialogue about the many beautiful ways we live and belong. 📚

And of course—plenty of smiles were shared during dress-ups, as the children proudly wore traditional attire from around the globe, celebrating their heritage and learning about others’.

Through texture, colour, story, and connection, the children experienced the heart of Harmony Week: everyone belongs.
