National Simultaneous Storytime is a day to celebrate literacy and build the foundations for a life-long love of reading in our young learners.

This week educators and children were delighted by the book “Family Tree”. We gathered around and listened to a live reading by the author, along with others all over the world.

After the reading and throughout the week, children participated in experiences that were designed to encourage a love of reading.

The children have also decorated pots and have begun to plant seeds in the pots, which has come from the book “Family Tree”. Educators and children spoke about what we need to do, to help care for our new seeds and make them grow.

We have also begun to make our own Sonas Family tree so that children have a sense of belonging within the community.
