Will it float or sink?
That was the provocation provided to our children.
What begun as a simple question of which is heavier led onto a sink or float experimentation and hypothesis by the children.
The children felt the weight of each item and thought about the provocation. Some of the children hypothesised that because the object was heavy it would sink. However this proved to not be true with the heavy Christmas decoration.
The children then went exploring through the yard to gather more objects to hypothesise with.
