As part of our morning routine, we begin with a story mat session to support the transition from home to the centre.
This morning, the children chose two books: Hairy Maclary and Where is the Green Sheep.
During the story time, the children were able to recognise the next part of the story and could even read aloud with Jemma. The children were also able to connect the teddies that came with the stories to the images within the book.
Analysis of learning: children are able to support their emotions during transition time to support a calming environment for everyone.
