Sonas Woodbridge – Sensory Water Play

The children used scoops to explore the materials, carefully picking up and pouring water.

The child appeared focused and curious, looking closely at the objects while manipulating the scoop. children demonstrated persistence and concentration while experimenting with scooping and transferring water.

2.)   Fine Motor Skills: Using the scoop strengthens hand-eye coordination and grip control.

3.)   Sensory Exploration: The use of citrus fruits and mint engages smell, touch, and visual senses, enhancing sensory awareness.

4.)   Language Development: Opportunities arise for educators to introduce descriptive vocabulary such as “floating,” “sinking,” “soft,” and “juicy.”

5.)   Social Skills: Sharing the space and materials supports turn-taking and cooperative play.
