Sonas Woodbridge – Easter Fun

Children participated in a variety of Easter-themed activities including egg decorating, Easter sensory play (coloured rice and eggs), and an egg hunt outdoors.

The children showed excitement and curiosity as they explored the materials. Some children carefully painted and decorated eggs using different colours, while others engaged in imaginative play, pretending to find and collect eggs in baskets.

During the egg hunt, children demonstrated problem-solving skills by searching in different areas and helping peers locate hidden eggs. Social interactions were observed as children shared resources, took turns, and communicated with each other.

Children developed fine motor skills through painting and handling small objects, and cognitive skills through exploration and problem-solving during the egg hunt. The activities also encouraged social and emotional development, as children collaborated, shared, and experienced a sense of achievement.

The sensory play promoted creativity and engagement, allowing children to explore textures and colours in an open-ended way. The egg hunt supported physical development and spatial awareness, as children moved around the environment with purpose.

Educators used intentional teaching strategies such as questioning and prompting to extend children’s thinking and language.
