As a continuation from last week’s lava lamps, today we discovered and explored some volcano eruptions.
Using baking soda, food colouring and white vinegar we were able to recreate our very own versions of lava boiling over out of a glass jar.
By layering the baking soda we were able to hide our colour of choice, creating a surprise when it flowed over.
We noticed that the colours would appear more vibrant if we mixed them through, so using a mixing tool we stirred our hidden colours making them noticeable to the eyes with their vibrant pigment.
