The children gathered in our STEAM studio to participate in a follow-up activity from our experience on Monday regarding the fire within our area.
Displayed on our table were our first responders, along with their vehicles. The task at hand for the children is for them to visually label which of these jobs is theirs and which one is their car.
Through this experience, the children discussed with the educator details surrounding their jobs and what kind of responsibilities they have.
The children referred these people back to our fire and identified which ones would have responded to the call and why.
This then transitioned into exploring other important jobs such as lifeguards, surf rescuers, and doctors, along with their roles and responsibilities.
This experience explores the children’s understanding of identifying first responders along with who to call and ask for in the instance of an emergency.
