Children’s Week Article 24: “Children have the right to a clean and safe environment.”

In line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) in Australia, the children engaged in rich discussions and collaborative activities focused on recycling, sorting waste, and rescuing sea creatures affected by pollution.

Through these experiences, the children explored not only their immediate environment and daily routines but also the broader impact their actions have on the world around them.

This aligns with key principles of the EYLF, particularly in fostering a sense of responsibility and respect for the environment. The children developed an understanding of sustainability, recognising the importance of caring for our natural resources to ensure their availability for future generations.

By connecting their learning to real-world issues, they demonstrated an increasing awareness of their role as active participants in their communities and the need to preserve the environment for the enjoyment of others.
