Objective: “Children write for a variety of purposes using increasingly sophisticated marks.”
We started by creating masking tape letters on the table. We then offered the children a bucket of wooden sticks and challenged them to create the letters displayed. “What letters can you see? Shall we sing our A, B, and C’s?”
This sparked a conversation regarding letters vs. sounds, which promotes early-onset literacy learning.
