At Ashby, the children in the nest room really enjoyed exploring the ziplock paint bags.

To further expand on this interest, we made sensory bags today.  First, we filled the bags with a small amount of water. Then, we each took turns making our own bags. Using our fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills, we picked up the pom-poms and filled out those bags.

I described the pom-poms as each one was picked up, allowing us to explore words like big, small, and soft, as well as different colours. Once the bag was full, we zipped them closed and began exploring them. We squished, pushed, and poked, watching the pom-poms float around the bag. POP! The bags exploded.

This was our favourite part: splashing the water and squishing the wet pom-poms.
