Children demonstrate enthusiasm and great confidence when educators teach them by using their interests and teaming up with groups that share the same interests.

This week we looked at The Hungry Caterpillar, where we broke it down and used the story to teach numeracy and literacy. First, we listened to the story, and then we went to the planning table, where we discussed what we needed, ā€œsome paper and markers.ā€

We drew a caterpillar and seven circles, and in the circles, we drew the first letter of each day. While continuing to listen to the story in the background.

Reflection: the children were able to stay focused on their learning while listening to the story in the background, and they were repeating the days of the week as they drew their pictures.
