We are continuing to focus on our hygiene by washing our hands before mealtimes and when we come inside after exploring our outdoor environment.

It is also important to wash our hands after the toilet or nappy change. The children are learning about why it is important to wash our hands because there are tiny little germs that the human eye can’t always see.

The children are becoming independent with hand washing, turning the tap on, and applying their own soap, this is an embedded practice in our service as the children are now able to wash their hands without being asked.

While hand washing, we look at the poster displayed next to the sinks, to wash our hands using the correct procedure, the children and educator’s sing a song to wash them for the correct amount of time.
